At Cooper, we hope that every student becomeinvolved in at least one activity during the school year. This is extraordinarily important as students prepare for high school because high school students who are involved in school activities manage their time better and are more likely to experience academic success in school.

How one begins participation in an activity varies depending upon the activity. Clubs are generally open to all students. Some activities require try-outs or auditions, and a few activities are only open to 7th and 8th graders, such as basketball and volleyball. Any specifics such as these are noted at the right or below!

For more information on getting involved, students are encouraged to listen to the Daily Announcements or see a sponsoring teacher for more information.

Get your physical

To participate in sports, you are required to have a current physical. A physical is good for one year, and it must be on file in the Cooper Health Office. If you have any questions, please contact the Health Office at 847.520.2750.

Tips for Involvement
- Listen to the announcements at the beginning and end of each day. Know when new activities are beginning and who the teachers are that are working with those activities.

- Ask a teacher. If you aren't sure about when an activity begins or who is in charge of that activity, talk to one of the teachers on your team.

- Come to the Office. For more information about an activity, you can always come to the Office. If the information is not there, we can always tell you who to speak with for more information.

- Try different types of activites. Middle school is a time to explore new activities. You may find that you like or are good at something that you had never done before.
