Cooper Cares
is a school-based fund designed to support middle school
students
and allow all students to participate in curricular and co-curricular
activities without concern for the financial costs associated
with the activity. Cooper Cares was originally funded by
the Cooper Middle School Parent-Teacher Organization at the
close
of the 2004-2005 school year, and its mission and structure
were further revised by the Parent Advisory Council and the
Building Council during the 2005-2006 school year.
Cooper
Cares provides for students’ financial needs as
it relates to curriculum and co-curricular activities. Cooper
Cares solicits monetary gifts and donations of school-related
items (school supplies, P.E. uniforms, instruments, etc.),
and these items are matched to students in need. Students
are identified in a variety of ways, including federal guidelines
as well as the recommendations of teachers and members of
our
Cooper Community.
Cooper Cares accepts donations throughout
the year. To donate items, please contact the Principal,
Assistant Principal,
and Dean of Students in order to determine the appropriateness
of and need for these items. To make a monetary gift, please
complete this form and send to Cooper Middle School along
with
a check.
