District 21 Mission Statement
The purpose of Wheeling District 21 schools is to provide a learning environment for all students to become life-long learners and productive citizens.

3 year goals

- By May 2009, all students in grades 6 through 8 who are at grade level in Reading will annually make at least one year's growth as measured by the RIT score of the NWEA assessment.

- By May 2009, all students in grades 6 through 8 who are at grade level in Mathematics will annually make at least one year's growth as measured by the RIT score of the NWEA assessment.

- By May 2009, 90% of students who are performing below their grade level standards in Reading will meet the grade level standard as measured by NWEA RIT scores.

- By May 2009, 90% of students who are performing below their grade level standards in Mathematics will meet the grade level standard as measured by NWEA RIT scores.

 

3-5 year long-term goals

- All students in grades 2-8 who are at grade level in reading will make one or more years growth each year as measured by an assessment to be determined by the district.

- All students in grades 2-8 who are at grade level in mathematics will make one or more years growth each year as measured by an assessment to be determined by the district.

- 90% of the students below grade level in reading will reach grade level within three years as measured by an assessment to be determined by the district.

- 90% of the students below grade level in mathematics will reach grade level within three years as measured by an assessment to be determined by the district.
